When I first became a project manager, my primary responsibility was to identify every piece of project work, dump it into a Gantt chart and guard it with my life. No scope creep! Fast forward a few years, one pandemic, and the exponentially increasing speed of change, and my daily work life looks vastly different. In this session we’ll discuss what project management looks like today and the knowledge and skills needed to add value and to support your organization’s strategic goals.

Shira Fogel
Project Manager
Shira Fogel is a project manager with the UAB Information Technology and has been a key player in UAB IT PMO process development. During her 18-plus years at UAB, Shira has built strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels by identifying shared values, promoting transparency, and fostering collaboration. She specializes in change management and employs a hybrid of traditional and agile project management best practices to successfully lead cross-functional teams in executing project work and achieving desired outcomes. Shira has obtained PMP, PMI-ACP and CSM project management certifications and has been a PMI/PMICAC member since 2015.
