Assumptions Lead to Risks
Dave Davis PMP, PgMP, PBA, ACP, SAFe LPM, CSM, DASSM, AHPP, PMI-ATP
A well-accepted project is initial project planning, which involves documenting assumptions.  Project Assumptions identify a condition, thought, or idea that is considered to be valid without proof or validation.  However, the list of assumptions often never gets reviewed after the initial listing.
This presentation will focus on the practice of documenting the assumption, validation criteria for the assumption, and setting guidelines for what to do when the assumption is not validated.  The presentation will discuss the process of turning a non-validated assumption into a Risk with appropriate parameters such as probability and impact.
After viewing this presentation, you will be able to define a project workflow from defining assumptions to validating assumptions to transferring the assumption to a risk.
