Susan Irwin
Senior Director of the IT PMO for SCA Health
Dr. Irwin is the senior director of the IT PMO for SCA Health in Birmingham, Alabama. She leads a team of 23 individuals, comprising Program and Project managers and Business Analysts, and is responsible for planning and integrating surgical centers across the United States. Before joining SCA, Dr. Irwin served as a senior project manager and Project Management Office (PMO) director for several major organizations.
Dr. Irwin is trained in technology and project management, with an 18-year background leading portfolio, program, and project teams on multimillion-dollar development projects in both government and private industries, focusing on healthcare, utilities, banking, and consulting.
Dr. Irwin has been on a mission to develop the next generation of portfolio, program, and project managers, leading project management and agile training, and facilitating the Project Management Process course at the University of Cumberland's.
Dr. Irwin holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology with a concentration in project management, an MBA with a concentration in project management, and a master of Science in Computer and Information Systems. Dr. Irwin holds several certifications, including the PfMP, PgMP, PMP, ACP, PMI-SP, PMI-RMP, PMI-PBA, CSM, SA, SP, ITIL, and LSSGB.
