Community in Action - Inside Airport Operations
As part of PMICAC’s 2026 Community in Action theme, this experience highlights how project management supports the systems that power Birmingham’s infrastructure and economic growth.
The airport represents a complex, live operational environment where planning, coordination, and execution occur continuously. This experience connects project professionals directly to that reality.
Through a guided exploration of airport operations, infrastructure, and ongoing initiatives, participants will gain insight into the systems, projects, and partnerships that support one of the region's most critical transportation assets. The experience will include a leadership discussion featuring Ingrid Hairston, A.A.E., PMP, Chief Revenue Officer, and Kim Hunt, Vice President of Communications, providing a behind-the-scenes perspective on organizational strategy, stakeholder alignment, infrastructure investments, operational priorities, and regional impact.
Attendees will examine how airport leaders balance competing priorities while delivering initiatives that support airline growth, passenger experience, business development, regional connectivity, and economic development. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of how executive leadership, strategic decision-making, and project management intersect to support organizational objectives within the aviation industry.
