Building the Right Thing, Predicting the Right Time - July ALFISIG Monthly Meeting

Agile

This session introduces two complementary Agile forecasting techniques:  Story Mapping, which helps teams identify the smallest valuable release by organizing work around the user journey, and the Monte Carlo Simulation, which uses historical throughput or velocity data to forecast delivery outcomes with confidence.  By the end of the session, you'll understand how Story Mapping answers "What should we build" and Monte Carlo answers "When are we likely to finish it".

Speakers

Randy Smith

I help organizations build the right thing and build it well by connecting product strategy to day-to-day delivery. As a product-informed Enterprise Coach and SAFe SPCT, I work with executives, product leaders, and teams to align OKRs, roadmaps, and backlogs to outcomes that matter. I’ve supported transformations across shipping, healthcare, finance, and tech, bringing agility that is practical, people-centered, and focused on real results.
