Your Next Great Introduction — Elevator Pitches for Networking and Holiday Parties

Power Skills

Its that time of year, again! Year-end events, holiday or office parties, social and community gatherings. Let's take an hour and prepare and plan some dynamic responses to the questions that we all know will be asked! Make your next introduction easier to say and easier to remember.

In this interactive virtual workshop for PMI-Central Alabama members and project professionals, you will develop a concise elevator pitch and a conversational introduction for networking events and holiday parties. Two guided breakout activities and two AI assisted exercises provide practice, peer feedback, and time to revise. Leave with a 30-second professional pitch, a 10–15-second social introduction, and a question that keeps the conversation going.

Learning objectives

  • Identify the audience, purpose, and value behind your introduction.
  • Write a clear, memorable 30-second elevator pitch using plain language.
  • Adapt your pitch into a 10–15-second introduction for a holiday or social gathering.
  • Practice delivery and revise your message using structured peer feedback.
  • Use an open-ended question and a respectful follow-up to continue a conversation.
  • Use AI prompts with selected résumé or profile facts to refine an introduction and answers about work, hobbies, and career interests.
